All web clients be advised of possible site outage Nov 21 -22, 2011

Dear clients,

We have been experiencing load issues on the server over the last few weeks, which essentially can cause web sites to appear blank or down - simply because the server is too busy on other processes. This can happen through e-mail spam and DOS attacks and even software misconfiguration.

As such, we have taken steps with our data center to switch each of your sites to a new server, which should remedy this situation.

To explain this process:

Essentially, you will have two identical web sites online at the same time. As the new ip address is sent to the thirteen main name servers, known as propagation, some visitors will be looking at the old site, while others are able to visit the new one.

Be advised your e-mail may experience inconsistencies:

The only way you will actually notice any difference is in the area of e-mail.  For those clients with IMAP accounts set up, your email is actually kept on the server in an online inbox. As you switch inboxes there may be some duplicates or missing e-mails.

Many of you have opted to use gmail, yahoo, or some other provider with your emails being forwarded to that account. These clients should not be affected.

For those of you who enjoy the privacy of using your own domain's email account, I would suggest backing up your email to another folder within your email program, such as the "Keep" folder mentioned above. This is usually as simply as right-clicking on the account and adding a folder, followed by copying or moving all of the e-mail in the inbox to the newly created folder. Check your software's Help documentation for further details.

Painless as possible:

We will keep this process as painless as possible.  We have skilled engineers scheduled to handle the majority of this process via direct transfer at the datacenter rather than waiting for each of the sites to be uploaded. Final preparations will be made over the next few hours.

We will keep you posted as this situations progresses.

Please be patient during this  process.
